Why Val d’Isère?
Val d’Isère is more than the place where I work it’s the place I chose to call home.
What makes it special isn’t one statistic or one famous run. It’s the combination of exceptional skiing, a beautiful mountain village, incredible food, a vibrant atmosphere and the feeling that there is always somewhere new to discover.
Whether you’re coming for your first ski holiday or have been returning for decades, Val d’Isère has a wonderful way of making you want to come back.
A Mountain for Every Kind of Skier
One of the things I love most about Val d’Isère is how different one ski day can feel from the next.
We can spend a morning building confidence on gentle terrain, cover kilometres exploring Val d’Isère and Tignes, work on technique on beautifully groomed pistes or head away from the busier areas in search of something more adventurous.
For families and groups with different abilities, this variety is particularly valuable. Your skiing can evolve throughout the week rather than feeling like you are repeating the same day.
And when you ski with me, we can decide where to go according to you ; your ability, energy, interests and the conditions that particular day.
A Resort Made for a Proper Ski Holiday
There’s something wonderful about being able to put your ski boots on in the morning and have an entire mountain playground waiting outside.
Different areas of Val d’Isère have their own character, and part of the pleasure is discovering them: an early morning run before the mountain gets busy, a beautiful viewpoint, a favourite piste you want to ski again, or somewhere special to stop for lunch.
Knowing the mountain means we don’t have to follow the obvious route. Some of my favourite days are the ones that unfold naturally as we ski.
High-Mountain Skiing
Val d’Isère’s altitude is one of the reasons I feel so confident recommending it for a ski holiday, particularly when booking well in advance.
The village sits at 1,850 metres and the ski area extends high into the mountains, giving us access to high-altitude terrain throughout the season.
Conditions naturally change from day to day — that’s part of skiing — and knowing where to go at the right time can completely transform a day on the mountain
Life Beyond Skiing
A ski holiday shouldn’t only be about the skiing.
Val d’Isère is somewhere you can enjoy from breakfast until late at night. There are beautiful hotels and chalets, long lunches on the mountain, spas, shopping, intimate restaurants, lively bars and plenty of places to celebrate when the occasion calls for it.
You can make your stay as relaxed or as social as you want and that balance is one of the reasons so many of my guests return.
Experience Val d’Isère Like a Local
The places that make a holiday memorable aren’t always the ones you find through a search engine.
After years of living and working here, I have my own favourites where I like to ski, where I take children, where I stop for coffee, where I would book lunch on a sunny day and where I would send someone for a special dinner.
When we ski together, that local knowledge is naturally part of the experience. I want you to discover the Val d’Isère I love rather than simply tick off its most famous places.
Your Personal Concierge in Val d’Isère
My role can begin before you even arrive.
If you need help putting your holiday together, I can assist with accommodation, restaurant reservations, ski equipment, private transfers, helicopter transport, celebrations, parties, activities and professional photoshoots.
And once you’re here, I’m only a message away. Plans change, children get tired, weather changes and sometimes you simply decide you want to do something different.
Having someone local who already knows you can make everything much easier.
My aim is simple: to help you spend less time organising, more time enjoying the mountains, and leave Val d’Isère already wanting to come back.
Val d’Isère & Tignes — Two Resorts, One Ski Area
One of the great advantages of skiing in Val d’Isère is its direct connection with neighbouring Tignes. Together, they create an enormous mountain playground that we can explore freely throughout the day, without taking our skis off.
Tignes brings a completely different landscape and character to the experience, from high-altitude skiing around the Grande Motte to long descents, wide open pistes and countless possibilities for exploring. Having both resorts at our fingertips gives us the freedom to follow the conditions, the sunshine and your mood and means even a full week can feel wonderfully varied.
Skiing Beyond Val d’Isère
Val d’Isère may be home, but my love of the mountains has taken me much further.
I’ve skied in more than 100 resorts around the world, experiencing different mountains, cultures and approaches to skiing. I also teach internationally and organise private ski trips beyond the Alps, giving my guests the opportunity to discover extraordinary destinations with someone they already know and trust.
From European ski resorts to skiing in Japan, I can organise the experience from beginning to end: accommodation, transport, guiding and the details in between.
For guests who love skiing as much as I do, our time together doesn’t have to end in Val d’Isère. The next adventure can take us anywhere.
